How Career Services Can Help


The Career Services Center provides individual appointments and drop-in hours to assist you with a variety of career-related topics and issues.  For appointments call 336-334-5454.  Drop-in (15 min. sessions) are Mon.-Fri., 2:00-4:00 pm.

Choosing or Changing a Major

  • Counseling Appointments enable UNCG students to discuss career options and choosing/changing a major.
  • "Career Testsare available to help you clarify your interests, values, and skills as they relate to employment.
  • “How to Choose a Major” workshops let you learn how to find a major that matches your interests, abilities, and values. Plus, get a list of resources for next steps.
  • Career Clues Workshop Series is a four-week series of workshops to help you investigate the possibilities for majors and careers and consider what fits you best.
  • The Career Resource Library contains handouts, books, and web resources on career options and the relationship of majors to careers.

Internships

  • Staff members assist students in locating internships.  Our resource library contains local job listings and regional opportunities. Internships are listed on our website and in resources in our library.
  • Register on SpartanCareers and receive new internship listings.

Finding a Part-Time Job

Full-Time Employment Assistance

  • Counseling Appointments are available for discussing resume writing, interviewing, and job search strategies.
  • The Career Resource Library contains resources on employers, resume writing, interviewing skills, and job search techniques. The CSC website includes SpartanCareers  job listings and other valuable links.
  • Career Days are held to assist students with their post-graduation plans.  Campus-wide career days held in the fall and spring focus on business, non-profit, and government.  Nursing Career Day is held in November and Education Career Day takes place in March. 
  • On-Campus Recruiting is available for graduating students.
  • Reference File Service is available to students seeking employment in education or seeking graduate school admission.
  • Resume Assistance is available during appointments and drop-ins.
  • Practice Interviews enable students to improve interviewing skills.

  • Counselors are available for students to discuss graduate school options.
  • The Career Resource Library contains information about graduate school programs and the application process.
