CHOOSING OR CHANGING A MAJOR     [Top]
  • Counseling Appointments enable UNCG students to discuss career options and choosing/changing a major. Call 336-334-5454 or come to #1 Elliott University Center to schedule an appointment with a career counselor.
  • "Career Tests are available to help you clarify your interests, values, and skills as they relate to employment. Some "tests" are electronic and others are paper-and-pencil.
  • The Career Resource Library contains handouts, books, and web resources on career options and the relationship of majors to careers.
INTERNSHIPS     [Top]
  • Staff members assist students in locating internships.  Our resource library contains local job listings and regional opportunities. Internships are listed on our web site and in resources in our library.
  • Register on SpartanCareers and receive new internship listings.
  • An Internship Fair is held during the Spring Semester.
FINDING A PART-TIME JOB     [Top]
FULL-TIME EMPLOYMENT ASSISTANCE     [Top]
  • Counseling Appointments are available for discussing resume writing, interviewing, and job search strategies. Schedule an appointment at #1 EUC or call 336-334-5454.
  • The Career Resource Library contains resources and periodicals on employers, resume writing, interviewing skills, and job search techniques. The CSC website includes SpartanCareers job listings and other valuable links.
  • Career Days are held to assist students with their post-graduation plans.  A campus-wide Career Day held in the fall focuses on business, industry, and government.  Nursing Career Day is held in November and Education Career Day takes place in February.  Spring Career Fair hosts business, government, and non-profit employers for a just-in-time fair.
  • On-Campus Recruiting is available during Fall and Spring Semesters for graduating students.
  • Reference File Service is available to students seeking employment in education or seeking graduate school admission.
  • Resume Drop-Off Service provides a critique of resumes, cover letters, and graduate school application essays. We suggest that students make an appointment with a career counselor for a resume review before utilizing the drop-off service.
  • Mock Interview Service is available to enable students to practice interviewing skills.

  • Counselors are available for all UNCG students and alumni to discuss graduate school options.
  • The Career Resource Center contains information about graduate school programs and the application process.
