A practice interview with a real employer is a great way to:

• Try out your interview skills in a professional situation with no repercussions
• Meet an employer of interest
• Learn interviewing skills from someone who interviews for a living
• Receive candid, unbiased feedback to improve your skills

Practice interviews with real employers are scheduled for four days each semester. To sign up, search in SpartanCareers for “Practice Interviews” or call 334-5454.

Career counselors are available in the CSC to conduct practice interviews year round.

• Call 334-5454 to schedule a practice interview.
• At least 24 hours before your appointment, provide the career counselor with your resume and a description of the job and company or organization you would like to use as your interview model.
• Prepare as you would for an actual interview. Practice typical interview questions.
• Research the organization with which you will be “interviewing” and bring along a list of questions you would ask the interviewer.
• Dress as if you were actually interviewing (this usually means a suit!).
• Don't forget to arrive a little early as you would for a real interview and bring an extra copy of your resume.
