On-campus interviews and recruiting events

On-campus interviews are held year-round. The frequency of interviews varies based on employer needs.

In order to participate in on-campus interviews scheduled through SpartanCareers, you must:

1. be currently enrolled or an alumni, and
2. have your resume reviewed and approved by a Career Counselor. To have your resume reviewed and approved, please contact the Career Services Center to schedule an appointment. A Career Counselor will meet with you to review your resume and walk you through the necessary steps to have your account activated.

Unless otherwise noted, all interviews are held in the Career Services Center, #1 Elliott University Center (ground floor).

The following cancellation and no-show policy applies to individual interviews, practice interviews, and group interviews. Due to the professional nature of on-campus interviews, the following policy will be enforced when a candidate cancels an interview after the schedule has been frozen, or fails to show up for any scheduled interview, including practice interviews. Remember: the Cancellation/No Show Policy was electronically signed during the creation of your SpartanCareers profile.

Cancellation Policy

• On-campus interviewing is taken very seriously by employers, UNCG, and the Career Services Center. Signing up for an on-campus interview is a commitment that is expected to be upheld. Once you are scheduled for an interview, you are responsible for being present on the designated date and time.
• Interview cancellations made via SpartanCareers will be accepted up to two (2) full business days (Mon–Fri) prior to the day of the scheduled interview.
• If you need to cancel your interview after the schedule freeze date (two business days prior to your interview), you must contact the Career Services Center at 336-334-5454.

No Show Policy
If a student fails to abide by the cancellation policy, the missed interview is considered a “no show.” Once a no show has occurred, the following rules apply.

1. Your SpartanCareers account will be deactivated, thus blocking access to job searches and interview requests.
2. You must write a letter of apology to the employer. A sample letter and recruiter’s name and address are available in the CSC.
3. Once you have written a letter of apology (and it has been reviewed by the CSC), your SpartanCareers account will be reactivated.

Following this procedure affords another student the opportunity to interview in your place and the employer another opportunity to engage with a qualified UNCG student.

Career Services will block all future interviewing privileges for any student with two no shows. Alumni will lose privileges after one no show.
