Nursing
is the study of the direct personal care, support and
condition monitoring (usually accompanied by frequent
“hands-on” activities) of those who are sick,
injured, disabled, or elderly. Students learn about the
day-to-day skills and practices involved in quality patient
care. This includes learning about human anatomical and
physiological processes, human growth, development, and
behavior as well as teamwork, observation and referral,
responding to emergencies, health care facility operations,
philosophy and management, diet and nutrition, etc. Some
of the specialties under nursing and related services
are mid-wifery, occupational nursing, public health nursing,
school nursing, private duty nursing and nurse practitioner. UNCG offers a BSN in Nursing. For more information
