
The Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies (BLS), Humanities Concentration, is the first online degree-completion
program offered at UNCG. It is designed for transfer students who have at least 60 credits of transferable coursework
from other institutions. The BLS Program is a humanities concentration, with areas of emphasis in literature, the fine
arts, historical perspectives, and philosophy, religion and ethics. The BLS program does not offer concentrations in
business administration or education. All courses in the BLS major are delivered entirely online, in an asynchronous
format. Most courses run in eight-week intensive sessions that correspond with the first and second halves of the regular
semester. Most students are nontraditional adults; the average BLS student is over 30 years old at graduation.For more
