Are you interested in careers that address today’s international and global challenges and require a keen understanding of other world cultures and languages? If so, then a major in the International and Global Studies (IGS) Program is for you. The mission of IGS is to provide a structured context in which to study international and global topics and issues that link and transcend traditional disciplinary parameters. In the framework of one of eight interdisciplinary concentrations, students cultivate a range of skills of particular value in professional and personal endeavors where knowledge of other societies and cultures, global processes, and foreign languages at an advanced (300) level of proficiency is important. IGS students are strongly encouraged to participate in study abroad opportunities as well as to take part in co- and extra-curricular activities with an international or global focus as complementary means to enhance their understanding of other peoples and lands and to enrich their overall undergraduate experience. For further information, please contact Dr. Roberto E. Campo, Director of International and Global Studies, by email: recampo@uncg.edu; by phone: (336) 334-5557; or in person: IGS office: 103G Foust; Dept. of Romance Languages office: 2322 MHRA.
