History

DESCRIPTION   [Top]
History is the study of political, social, economic, and cultural events of the past. Generally, historical study is divided into ancient, medieval, or modern cultures and societies. Gaining an understanding of past problems and strategies can help generate new ideas in dealing with contemporary issues. UNCG offers a BA in History that can include teacher certification in Social Studies. Students may go into law, journalism, public service, or archives and museums. For more information on the history major contact Charles Bolton 2129 Hall for Humanities and Research Administration. Visit the History program online at http://www.uncg.edu/his.
