Spartan Village Mentor Network

Do you have questions about careers within your industry?  Uncertain about how to start in your field? Looking for career advice from a UNCG grad or UNCG parent? Join the Spartan Village Mentor Network and connect with UNCG supporters who are eager to help answer questions and give valuable advice!

How can the network help me?
Spartan Village mentors can help answer questions and provide information regarding certain industries and occupations and can serve as great resources for job search advice, relocation questions, and informational interviewing contacts. Mentors are available to current students and alumni of UNCG and they are excited to share their experiences with you.
How does it work?
  1. Sign up for the network at Spartan Village: http://www.uncg.edu/ala/oc.html.
Note: As a student, enter only your first and last name on the initial sign up page.  Do not enter a graduation date unless you have already graduated.
  2. Agree to the terms and conditions.
  3. Click on “Find a Mentor” on the left-hand side of the Spartan Village page.
  4. Search for mentors by Job Function, Location, Job Title, Major, Degree, or Keyword.
  5. Contact your mentor through the “Send an Email” link. (Review Mentor Etiquette before getting started.)
Mentors are volunteers who are providing time, experience, and information to current UNCG students and alumni. The network is not intended as a job search tool, but rather as the first point of contact between parties. Mentors are not providing job opportunities and users should not inquire about job openings or use the system to recruit new employees. Advice and tips on informational interviewing are a helpful starting point for contacting mentors.
