Students
If you are doing your internship for academic credit, your professor or your
employer may ask you to complete a learning contract that outlines your opportunities
and responsibilities.
Even if you are not pursuing academic credit for your internship, consider using a Learning Contract anyway. It will help you and your employer focus on learning outcomes.
Employers
If a student is doing your internship for academic credit, they may ask you to complete a learning contract that outlines their opportunities and responsibilities.
However, many students are not pursuing academic credit for their internship. They are simply seeking experience. Consider using a Learning Contract in this instance also. It will help you and the student focus on learning outcomes and be clear about mutual expectations for the internship.
