A general liability insurance is now available from the UNC system for any college students participating in non-clinical internships or other experiential learning activities away from campus.  This insurance is recommended for student purchase at $20.00 per term through the internship supervisor.  As of September, 2002, the process for submitting the funds and roster is as follows: 

1. Faculty supervising interns should collect the $20.00 insurance fee from each student (cash or check only ) and submit these funds to a designated account within their departmental budget.

2. The roster of student should be sent to Elaine Ayres, UNCG Purchasing Department, 1100 West Market Street. 

3. Upon receipt, Ms. Ayres will draft the insurance funds from the departmental account forwarding payment to Raleigh.

4. Problems or issues with the insurance process may be addressed by contacting Ms. Ayres.  For assistance with legal issues, contact Ms. Jen Palancia, Assistant University Counsel.
